Hi - I’m an inspector working third party inspection at an Oil Refinery. I recently discovered the podcast Upon Further Inspection from a webinar I attended this summer. Regarding the recent podcast on PCC-2 and composite wraps: at my previous company we transitioned from having 3rd party install the wraps to our own mechanical guys. This shifted the QC function from 3rd party to us and we were not prepared for that. I started working with the chief and engineering to determine an easily digestible QC/QA criteria for even an inspector to follow. I was not able to see this through but the general consensus at the time was to train us inspectors in how to install a wrap.
